Monkey men are beast-like men from Mongo, who are used to fight in the arena in Ming's palace.
Comic strip
Four monkey men fight Flash Gordon in the comic strip. [1] Flash, stripped to his underwear, beats all four with his bare hands in a matter of moments. The monkey men are reddish-orange, and wear shorts.
Serials
Three monkey men fight Flash in the arena in Ming's palace in the first chapter of the 1936 Flash Gordon serial.
The monkey men look more or less like human wrestlers, but they make funny faces, and two out of three of them have fangs. They don't win.
Two of the three were performed by wrestlers Bull Montana and Constantine Romanoff.
