House Peters, Jr.
From Flash Gordon Wiki
House Peters, Jr. (b. 1916) played the lead Shark Man in the 1936 Flash Gordon serial. He appears in "Captured by Shark Men" and "Battling the Sea Beast", delivering Flash and Dale to King Kala.
Peters was a character actor who appeared in more than 100 films, serials and television series. Peters' serial work includes the 1949 serials Batman and Robin and King of the Rocket Men. He also appeared in many television Westerns, including The Lone Ranger, The Roy Rogers Show and The Range Rider.
Peters also made television history as the original "Mr. Clean" in a series of popular commercials.
When he began his acting career, Peters swore that if he hadn't become a star by age 50, he would quit show business. Peters kept his word -- in 1966, with nothing but a recurring role on Lassie ahead of him, he left acting and began a successful career in real estate.
