"Happy" Hapgood is an aggressive reporter working for "The Washington Dispatch". In Chapter 201: New Worlds to Conquer, he stows away on Zarkov's rocket ship, hoping to get the real story on the mysterious Nitron beam that is causing natural disasters on Earth.
"Happy" travels to Mars, and gets caught up in the fight against Queen Azura alongside Flash Gordon, Dale Arden, and Dr. Hans Zarkov.
