War Flag
The Magic Men are people of Mongo who follow Queen Azura, the Queen of Magic.
Before Flash Gordon showed up, Tahl was the general of the Magic Men, but then Azura puts the blonde stranger in charge. ("The Witch Queen of Mongo")
Different Versions[]
The New Adventures of Flash Gordon 1979-82s animated TV series had the Magic men also known as the "Witchmen of Syk" depicted as a blue-skinned humanoid alien race, including their Queen Azura (who in some of the Comic adaptions was colorized as looking caucasian human instead).
The Flash Gordon TV adaption from 2007 reinterpreted the magic men as the Zurn, in this version they also are blue-skinned but this is explained as ritual face-paint.
