Bruno Wick (1892-1979) was a German-born actor who played Ming the Merciless in the 1935 radio serial, The Amazing Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon. Like many New York radio actors, Wick combined his radio career with work on Broadway, including This Is New York (1930-1931) and most notably I Remember Mama (1944-1946, originating the role of suitor Mr. Thorkelsen).
On radio, Wick played handyman Mr. Fowler on the long-running comedy-drama serial The Goldbergs (ca. 1931 - 1950). One of his more exotic outings was in a 1948 episode of Wyllis Cooper's horror-fantasy anthology Quiet, Please, as a little man who eats underground cables in "Below Fifth Avenue." In the late 40s and early 50s, he also played minor roles on television and film, including The House on 92nd Street (1945) and two episodes of Inner Sanctum (1954).
